Meditation Helps Your Brain Grow - And brings relief to your pains

Interesting research that talks of how a certain kind of meditation helps grow brain fibres which in turns helps your emotional brain to respond to stimuli.
In pain? Physical or emotional or maybe both? I know that feeling - well.
Experience tells me that when I quiet down and pray / meditate, I will still feel the pain, but it becomes bearable and subdued.
