What Does Stress Look Like?

Stress is not a thing, an event or a person.
It is not tangible; it is what you make it out to be.

You decid what it is.

Yeap, you are that powerful.
Stress occurs inside of us as a response to perceived or real pressures.

People, events and situations and pressures will be there.
How you interpret that situations will create for you your very own stress.

The struggle is within you.

you. Do you know how stress is manifesting in your life now?

Sorry, I was ahead of myself.

Let’s try that again.
Are there signs of stress showing up in your life?

I was once living in stress and not know that until it snowed ball and cried out for attention. And I did not know what was most effective in dealing with this ‘thing’ called stress.

If you feel the same just know that stress which means different thing to different people is a force that can be tamed and managed.

Vital Food That Improves Body Function And Food That Does Not

Food rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and Vitamins B is said to improve Brain Function while Vitamin D has been shown to help improve mood.

Omega 3 fatty acids are known to help mood and even cure depression while garlic and turmeric is  anti-inflammatory

Cruciferous vegetables will help detoxify our blood while adaptogens such as ginseng can help brain function by reducing the cortisone reaction and stress on the adrenal glands.

For a list of food to avoid, check this out. The summary above is taken from Natural News

Over Stressed Working Moms Looking To De-Stress

Dedicated To Those Stressed In Secret And Seeking A Way To Handle Stress

Working women play a daily game of balancing career/business and family life. You want to spend as much time as you can with your children to provide care and guidance. And you also want to shine at work (on top of wanting to be a supportive and loving partner)

And in an effort to excel in all that you do and to meet your very high expectations of yourself (including maintaining a healthy professional image and appearance) you may be slowly caving in on the inside.

A survey conducted by Working Mothers found that 5.3 million women in the United States drink in an unhealthy manner.  More women are secretly turning to wine, vodka or xanax at the end of the day to wind own.

Some
cannot make it through the day without these drinks. There seems to be more to it than just a harmless glass of wine.

The shocking thing about this is that these women appear to be in control, their children are doing well in school and they are performing at work.

They do not go to bars or drink excessively during dinner. An you would never have guessed that they are progressively turning to and depending on alchohol to de-stress at the end of the day.

Read more here [alarming stats]

Read this, and if you know of anyone who may be suffering in secret because of the stigma attached to stress, let them know that there are support groups and help available. Deal with the root and not the sympton.

Stress And Obesity In Children Rising

Research shows that children as young as 6 are obese and that childhood obesity has more than tripled in the past 30 years.

We know that overweight children are more likely to remain obese in their adulthood which often leaves them at a higher risk for developing various health issues, including Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

If rectification is not made, we can imagine the health issues this can bring.

Today there are more incentives for parents to set the tone for and implement lifestyle changes in the family. That would includes healthier eating habits and getting more physical activities. And it would also include teaching their children some stress management skills.

Research show that increase stress levels in children are linked to obesity.

When teens are stressed by social, peer and examination pressure more stress hormones  are released causing physiological and behavioral changes, low morale and very often mindless comfort eating and inactivity which leads to obesity.

Childhood and teen depression and obesity is a rising concern and a serious issue. It is important and urgent that they learn some basic stress management and stress relief skills

Additional stress relief tips here
and don't forget to check out our live call on Wed. All are welcome.
